Telehealth is therapy provided via phone or video call, as opposed to traditional face-to-face contact. Telehealth can offer a convenience to individuals preferring to not commute to a physical practice. All it requires is a stable internet connection and a quiet, confidential space. Telehealth appointments are eligible for Medicare rebates.

You do not need to have a MHTP to access therapy. An MHTP can be provided to you if your GP assesses you as eligible, i.e. experiencing mental health challenges that would benefit from psychological therapy. If you do not have an MHTP, you will pay the session full fee without a rebate.
-
No. If you have a MHTP, your GP will have indicated depression, anxiety, adjustment disorder or other. However, a formal diagnosis is not required to engage in therapy.

Therapy comes to completition when you want it to. My goal in therapy is to help develop your mental health toolkit so that you feel proficient in your self-management. Some people like to complete therapy after the 10 sessions of a MHTP, others prefer less. Many people continue to engage in therapy over a number of years, but with their sessions spaced out as check-ins, as new challenges arise.
